What is the Specialist mod?
The Specialist mod is a modification of Starsiege Tribes which amplifies the gameplay experience. The objectives remain unchanged (capturing flags, holding objectives, etc.), but it uses a class-based system of specialists, innovative tools and weapons, and new useful vehicles which encourage team play.

Specialist v2000d released! (8/1/00)
4 months of open beta-testing are complete, and now the Specialist mod v2000d is available to the public! Download it from the Downloads section. E-mail any and all suggestions and bug to one of the members of the development team.

Cores update (7/12/00)
Using grenade, mine, and beacon cores has been simplified. First, you can only carry a limited total number of cores. Second, you can use the Options menu to choose what kind of core you want to use next!

Admin Features added (7/10/00)
New admin functions include:
- Auto-admin: Admins authorized players when they connect to the game
- Gag: Prohibits a player from speaking
- Anti-Rape Mode: Makes generators and stations invincible (this mode can be voted in too)
- Custom skins: Allows players to use their personal skins
- Leave Mission Area Penalties: New penalties for leaving the mission area

Minor updates (6/22/00)
Various minor updates have been made including:
- The Demolitions specialist will pick up explosives that he defuses
- Hacked turrets and sensors will revert to their team after a specified period of time (default: 4 minutes)
- The Flak Cannon's rate of fire has been increased
- The Rocket Pack has an increased thrust
- The Infantry specialist now has an auto-loudout
- The Accelerator has an increased thrust for heavy armors
- Heavy armors can now ride as passengers in the Outrider
- The Supply Vehicle will now resupply the pilot as well
- The Personal Shield will not activate again (wasting it) if it has already been activated
- The Burn Effect now has more of a flame look to it
- The Cargo Vehicle now starts with one deployable inventory station already loaded in it
- The Circuit Explosive boobytrap is now much smaller and harder to detect
- The Commander specialist can now defuse explosives
- The Engineer specialist can now command turrets without being at a command station
- All vehicle speeds have been increased
- The Flag Stand will not undeploy if there is a flag on it

Base bug fixes now included (6/14/00)
The Specialist mod now includes all known base bug fixes.

1.11 and Plus features added to Specialist
Dynamix Tribes 1.11 patch features have now been added to the Specialist mod. This includes closing cheat loopholes, requiring validation of certain files, and capping the ski rate.

Features from Dynamix's Plus mod have also been added, including increased mortar, repair gun, and ELF range, wider chaingun spread, temporary respawn invulnerability, etc.

Specialist mod released!
After 4 months of development, the Specialist mod beta (v2000b) is finally available for testing!
