The Specialist mod for Tribes

Here are various tips for mastering the tools in Specialist.

Hacking
When hacking, your success rate increases with the number of times you collide with the object you are trying to hack. But you have to do it fast, because you only have a couple of seconds to build up this success rate.

Electro-magnetic Pulse
EMP weapons will knock out a player's energy, pinning them on the ground for a few seconds. This is great for neutralizing lighter armors.
EMP also knocks out vehicle shields. Before you rush that enemy tank, be sure to knock out its shields, or it is all in vain.
Turrets hit by EMP will lose half of their energy. Two EMPs followed by some mortars are a great way to destroy turrets quickly.

Shields
Flame weapons roll right around shielded objects, so use this when confronted with a Flamethrower. But acid will totally bypass shields, making it ideal for destroying turrets.

Demolitions
Place explosives in places where they are unlikely to be found or will be hard to reach such as behind stations. Don't leave Remote Bombs too long without detonating them; chances are the enemy will disarm them.
When trying to demolish a shielded object (such as a turret), it is often better to place your explosives evenly around the object, instead of in one pile on the object. This tends to do more damage.

Engineering
There are many tricks to engineering good defenses. This is probably the most scholarly aspect of the Tribes battlefield. The subject is too vast to address here.
